Knowledge about basic security and functions of private keys in steemit are very important. Since this is an online platform there are more chances to hacking our accounts. So after completing my first achievement in steemit, here is my second task about basic security in steemit.

Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

Yes, I have retrieved all my keys on steemit and save them in a safe place.

Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes, I’m aware about the functions and restrictions about each private keys.

There are five basic keys in steemit. Those are

1. Master password
2. Private posting key
3. Active key
4. Owner key
5. Memo key

Master key: - This is a very important key in steemit. It is used to derive all the keys for your account. We all should save our master key in somewhere safe. Once someone access to our master key, they can steal our account also.

Private posting key: - This key is useful for post anything in blog, comment on others posts and also to vote and resteem posts. In most of times we use this posting key. Also this key is useful for follow or mute others in steemit.

Active key: - Active key is another important key. This key is use when we do the transferring, power up or down, updating our profile details and also to convert stem dollars. Not only these but also this key is important when we are voting for witnesses and when we placing a market order.

Owner key: - This key is the most powerful key among the five private keys since it can be used to change any key of our account.

Memo key: - This key is simply use to encrypt and decrypt the private transfer memos.

It is very important to keep all these keys in somewhere safe. It’s good if you can both take a printout of these keys and also save in a hard disk of your computer. And keep in mind not to use owner key and master key in daily activities in steemit. Never allowed anyone to use your private keys.

How do you plan to keep your master password?

First of all, I saved my master key in my personal laptop. Then I take a printout of it and kept it in a safe place where nobody can’t steal it.

Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes. First you should log in to your wallet. After then click the down arrow in your steem token.

Then click the transfer and you will get a dialogue box. Fill the other details and click next.

Question 5
Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Yes, I know how to power up.
First you should log in to your steemit wallet.Then click the down arrow in steem token.

Click power up and you will get following dialogue box.

Fill the details and click the power up icon. That’s all.
