I’m to write about my achievement task 3 which is mainly based on “plagiarism “.

What is referred to as plagiarism?

It refers to when an author represents the work,ideas or thoughts of other authors as his / her own .

Types of plagiarism

There are several types of plagiarism and some are listed below;

A)Direct plagiarism

This is when an author represents the work of other author word for word as his own work without using quotation marks.

B)Mosaic plagiarism

This type of plagiarism is also known as patchwork plagiarism.This is when the author copies phrases of other authors.

C)complete plagiarism

This is when an author copies the exact word of other authors to represent his/her own.it can be termed as intellectual theft.
This is the most dangerous of all.

D)Accidental plagiarism

An author may accidentally have same thought with another author who have published his work earlier before him/her.

E)Self or author plagiarism

This when an author copies part of his/ her already published work without referrals.

What are the causes of plagiarism?

Firstly, when an author publishes his/her work and makes a lot of sales or profit from it, other authors try to copy some of the contents of that work to add to their own work in order to all make huge profits.

Secondly,some authors also just don’t have the talent to create or initiate good quality products on their own. Some of them fell so lazy to invest their time to create the person contents so they turn to copy others.

Avoiding plagiarism

1)Always use quotation make to indicate the portions you have copied from others.

2)Always show credit to the author you have made copy of their product.

1. Always try to write the ideal of other authors in your way or words.you must be very careful when doing this.
