First I'll like to express my happiness since joining this platform. Since I've completed achievement 1 which had to do with introduction, I'll like to go to the next task of achievement 2 which has to do with the basic security of everyone's steem accounts.

This article entails the basic things one need to know about each key and how to use it so as to protect and manage one's steem account to prevent theft and impersonation.

Password is very essential. It is the basic requirement needed to access an account. In the steem account, there are various types of passwords and each has every action it can perform. In this article, I'll explain everything about the password. There is always a pdf file being downloaded when one login for the first time.
The safest way to maintain one's steem account is by keeping the master password safe and use another password to access your steem account.

To log into your steem account, we only use a password that is in connection with the function of each password.

Being a steem account owner these are the basic things you need to know:

1. Private Posting Key
   This is a password which can be used to log in daily. Its key post function is to write posts, comment and create upvotes.

2. Private Memo Key
   The function of this particular key is to encrypt private messages which are being sent to blockchain.

3. Private Active Key
   The function of this key is for transferring tokens, power ups, power downs and trading.

4. Private Owner Key
   This particular key is used for resetting Al passwords and reclaim account within 30days.

5. Master Password
   This is otherwise called a king key. It can be used for the creation of all other keys. That is why it is called the master key.

How to protect your master key;

• Never ever reveal your master key to someone.
• Also store a duplicate of your master key in your back up account or better still, write it down somewhere that's safe.

How to transfer tokens between two steem accounts:

• click on the steem website
• Log in to your account
• Click on the circular portion which shows your profile picture
• Click on wallet
• you'll be directed to a page where you can see your steem
balance. Then click on transfer.
• Carefully provide the details of the person you want to transfer to.
• Input your active key for the transaction
• Then send it

How to power up steem account:

Steem account can be powered up through the following ways:

1. Click on the icon which shows your profile picture
2. Click on the option which shows "Wallet"
3. Click on the triangle beside your steem dollars
4. Click on market
5. Click on buy order then select the amount of steel dollars you require for use for the power up
