My Introduction | Newcomers' Achievement task 1

Dear reader, I will be introducing myself once again to the steemit community and for the first time in the newcomers' community. I formerly thought this was going to be a repetition but I realized a lot has happened between my first introductory post and now. I joined the steemit community while I was having my undergraduate studies in the University in 2018, I was naive then not just to a social community but to the real world. During the time difference, some part of me remain the same but I revisited a large part of my life. I have redefined my priorities, dreams and goals; learn certain things, made corrections and attain heights.

My name is Yinka Okunlola. I am a fresh graduate of Human Physiology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria. Nigeria has been my country of origin as well as country of residence since birth but I dream of exploring beyond it's border. I was born twenty three years ago to a tropical town in the south-western Nigeria, known as Igboora. This town holds a very strong historical reference and yet a global credit of having the highest number of twin birth in the world. Thus, it is known as "The World Capital of Twins" Wikipedia

I am currently a teacher of biological sciences (Biology/Chemistry) at the high school level and I've been doing this over the last five years. It's been more than a duty for me but a passion as I experience an exceptional gratification standing before classroom of scholars. My Dream in a simple statement is to "Raise and Mentor Giants in Academic World". In pursue of this I have resolved to a structure of being two sided; First being a continuous Learner and the same time a continuous Educator.

I started my journey on steemit as a science writer and this has been and unforgettable experience for me as the skills I developed then remains handy in my everyday life as an academician. I was introduced to the steemit community by a colleague @damxzyno along side with others such as @valchiz, @timileyin988 and we started off the journey being young scholars of a life science discipline. I joined and became a part of the STEEMSTEM community; a community of scholars in disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It was a community of science writers with a strict peer review protocol. As an upcoming science writer, I felt at home and I write entries on life sciences(physiology) and it's medical/health applications. Here are some of my writing:

  Recently, I joined a graduate mandatory national youth service corps with a primary duty to teach science at a Ogbe-udu secondary school in Delta state and as well perform community development service to the host community. In service, I am part of the medical team and we reach out by organizing simple health check-up and giving health and safety talk to community residents.

  

  

  Based on my engagements so far I've developed interest in critical reading and writing, teaching, mentoring, social networking and graphic design. However, I would love to belong to a community that cherish science writing where I could learn, write and relate with other members of the community.

  Steemit has been a big part of my life. I've learnt different skills and my recent engagement with the #Steemitcryptoacademy has also been a hinge. I now have a portfolio of my own and I've learnt basics of the blockchain technology and a number of technique in approaching crypto trading.

  Finally, I'm here to meet a community of teachers and learners from different part of the world to form a network where everyone gains.
