What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is said to be the practice or act of taking another author's or other's article, content or work and presenting it as your own without referring or acknowledging the owner. Plagiarism is an illegal activity, therefore it is a major offense in the academic field, which can be subject to sanctions such as; imprisonment, confiscate certificates, low grades and much more.

What are different types of plagiarism..?

Plagiarism happens in many different ways or forms, but here are some of them

Accidental plagiarism

This is a type of plagiarism that occurs because the author forgot or refused to refer to or cite the source of the information they took or copied. This type of plagiarism is more common among content writers.

Self plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs when an author publishes their own content on another platform or website.

Mosaic plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs because words are found that have almost meaning (synonyms) to replace other authors' original content to make it look like yours.

Direct plagiarism

This is a type of plagiarism that occurs as a result of taking another author's content or article without making any changes (verb) and presenting it as your own without their knowledge.

What are the effects of plagiarism?

Plagiarism is a great academic offense and in the steemit ecosystem, which should face consequences like; imprisonment, confiscation of certificates, group of institutions or groups etc, low grades and much more. I want to ask that every steemit should do well to avoid plagiarism because it's a bad to practice in the steemit ecosystem.

How to avoid plagiarism?

Plagiarism can be avoided by citations and references to the content sources, the use of quotation marks ("") and also an appropriate paraphrase.
