whats is plagiarism

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. Plagiarism is considered a violation of academic integrity and a breach of journalistic ethics. source

Types of Plagiarism

Direct Plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is the word-for-word transcription of a section of someone else’s work, without attribution and without quotation marks. The deliberate plagiarism of someone else's work is unethical, academically dishonest, and grounds for disciplinary actions, including expulsion source

Self Plagiarism

Self-plagiarism occurs when a student submits his or her own previous work, or mixes parts of previous works, without permission from all professors involved. For example, it would be unacceptable to incorporate part of a term paper you wrote in high school into a paper assigned in a college course. Self-plagiarism also applies to submitting the same piece of work for assignments in different classes without previous permission from both professors. source

Mosaic Plagiarism

Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original. Sometimes called “patch writing,” this kind of paraphrasing, whether intentional or not, is academically dishonest and punishable – even if you footnote your source! source

The popularity and reputation of Steemit has been built for years, a social network that benefits its authors for the original content, which incredible idea, however, many users intend to take advantage of the platform with content of poor quality or stolen content, this is when we refer to plagiarism, a practice that consists of stealing other people's content and publishing it as if it were their own.

In Steemit you can use information, texts, among other things from different Internet pages as long as you quote with quotation marks the text that is not of your authority in addition to leaving the link of the source where you got it.

Example:

Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities that have biological processes, such as signaling and self-sustaining processes, from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased (they have died) or because they never had such functions and are classified as inanimate. Various forms of life exist, such as plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea, and bacteria. Biology is the science that studies life. source

In addition to giving a simple and friendly touch to the structure of the publication, you are giving the necessary credits to the original source of the content.

You can also use royalty-free images, you have to be careful with using images with watermarks or images that are not free of copyright, remember to leave the link next to the image so that people can access and verify the original source.

source

Steemit is a platform made up of a large community of users who come from different countries in the world, the platform has been online for years and maintains a fairly strong economy, if each user contributes their grain of sand we can make Steemit continue to be maintained and continue to grow more and more, let's comply with the rules and enjoy the platform, plagiarism is a fraudulent action that can have consequences.

In addition, the most fun of providing original content is being able to share it with different people to know their opinions, points of view, among other things.

Hi, @nuhaan,

Your post has been supported by @reddileep from the Steem Greeter Team.

In this article, I have actually learnt something.
Seems plagiarism is something than can ruin the life and career of a man. It is advised to plagiarism free in any article and if quoting someone, proper crediting should be done
