Cameroon is a country found in the western part of Africa.

It is a vast and diversified land made up of 10 regions. All these regions have a particular custom and tradition that abound to each making the diversity so beautiful. We have countless traditional meals some of which include achu, eru, kwacoco and mbanga soup, mbongochobi, nang-tarre, ekwang, fufu….. just to name but these
Our official languages are English and French and added to these are our various local languages

There are two English regions out of the ten; Northwest region and Southwest region.I am from the Northwest part of Cameroon. English is my first official language and I do communicate in French as well,as well as my mother tongue.

Our nation symbols or emblems are National Anthem, National Flag, The Seal, The Coat of arms and Motto
Our flag has 3 colors which are Green, Red and Yellow and our Motto is Peace Work Fatherland

>A Cameroonian is a hardworking person, very respectful and peace loving, ambitious and educated. A Cameroonian is self contained and has natural self pride; pride in its positive form. A Cameroonian can survive anywhere on earth because “we” are brought up under a lot of discipline, endurance,resistance, courage and we have the fighting spirit in us

Cameroonians are either Christians or Muslims and the cohabitation is just excellent. Religion has its place in Cameroon and tradition does too; we do believe in our traditions

Cameroon is blessed with many cash crops . We grow cocoa, coffee, banana, rubber, timber, cotton etc.
We equally produce healthy food crops like cocoyam, plantain, tomatoes, vegetables, potatoes, yams, cassava
All of these both for home consumption and exports; aren’t we blessed?

Oh Cameroon, how luxurious you would be if your people collaborated. If corruption and tribalism was not the call of the day. If embezzlement and selfishness was not our first thought . If merit was duly recognized and things done right.
How much we are misusing our own land. How much we are slowly destroying it. How much loud groans are unheard

One thing I know is,

night never lasts forever. No matter how long, there’s always dawn. There’s hope; true and realistic hope. One day, just one day, our paradise will be the paradise it is on earth. My beautiful Cameroon
