Achievement3 Task @nancygbemi : Content Etiquette
Greetings to you all my lovely Steemians. Indeed today my heart is full with joy which is a sign of happiness to me and am sure you're equally feeling the same with your loved ones.Today i am here once more to discuss about my achievement3 task which is base on the topic: "Content Etiquette". In this task I have discussed about Plagiarism and its type. Without wasting much time let's get started.
According to University of Oxford.
Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.source
University of Oxford see Plagiarism as stealing of work that is either unpublished or already published be it in electronic form, printed or in the form of manuscript without citing the original author of the work. Plagiarism can sometime be an intentional or unitentional or a reckless act that is carried out by the person that committed Plagiarism.
Although, Plagiarism is mostly found in a media house, blogging workplace and schools nowadays. When it comes to blogging site like steemit Plagiarism is a very serious offense that can result in punishment as it is a law that protect right of the lawful owner of a content or text. Writing of content in steemit platform must be 100% original, meaning that when a writer make use of another writer words the writer must cite the work just as I have give a citation of the word that belong to "University of Oxford" above.
Types of Plagiarism
There a several types of Plagiarism. Although for the purpose of this task we will be looking at Direct plagiarism, mosaic plagiarism, self plagiarism and accidental plagiarism are the type of Plagiarism that we will be looking at
Direct Plagiarism:
Direct plagiarism is the most common type of plagiarism involves adopting of some parts of the writing of another author without mentioning the source of the write up proper. In this type of plagiarism the copier copy the text and make use of it without changing a single word from he/she copy. Although, in some case the plagiarist can make a little change in some sentences or replace some of the words using his/her own understanding.
Mosaic Plagiarism:
This is the type of plagiarism that occur when a writer borrows phrases or some part of sentences from a particular source without making use of quotation marks or making some changes in the content of which will make the write up look asive he is the original owner. As a Steemians you need to me very careful about this type of plagiarism.
Self Plagiarism
Self plagiarism is another type of plagiarism that is mostly common among content creators even in our various high school where you will see majority of students copying and pasting some part of their prior submitted work. Here in steemit you will see a Steemians reposting his/her previous work back without given a proper quotation.
Accidental Plagiarism:
Accidental plagiarism is the type of plagiarism that occur when the person that commit the plagarism misquotes some part of the text or phrase that is taking from the source without citing the work adequately or using wrong source to cite the work.
