Security is equivalent to safeguarding, protection, guidance, etc. Security is an act of protecting or resisting something of great importance or value from the reach of people. And it is common or usual for an item to be stolen, for a site to be accessed if the necessary security measures are not been taken or looked into. The unique thing here is that Steemit has already made sure security measures are been put in place.

STEEMIT AND IT'S SECURITY SYSTEM

Steemit has a high level of security system that is not common or usual amongst it's peers, and that is the use of PERMISSION KEYS.
Apparently, there are five (5) permission keys in Steemit, and they all have their different functions. In other words not centered on one purpose or function. The five permission keys includes:

1. Posting key
2. Active key
3. Memo key
4. Owner key
5. Master password

•Posting key: This is a very important key in Steemit. It can be used in accessing your account and doing other activities in the Steemit site

•Active key: This is another very important key in Steemit. This key can be used in transaction confirmation during transfers.

•Memo key: This key is for encrypting and decrypting. It is also used as a short message during transactions. This short message posses the address or purpose of the money.

•Owner key: This key is very influential in Steemit. It's job is to show ownership of a particular account. It is used in performing important transactions like during transfers and logging in or out.

•Master password: A master is always a master. As the name implies (Master Password), this is one of the most important key if not the most important in Steemit. The activities of this key influences the use of other keys. The master key can be used in changing other keys.

RETRIEVING AND SECURING YOUR PERMISSION KEYS

Permission keys are very important in Steemit as such they are used in performing several operations in Steemit. So it's advised that each permission key should be protected and kept safe.
After creating an account in Steemit, every user is advised to download the permission keys PDF. After downloading the PDF, you can use WPS Office or any other application that can access PDF to access it. After that, you can move it to an offline folder for safekeeping.

HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM

Login to your wallet, click on steem, click on transfer.

Put the details of the person and confirm

HOW TO POWER UP STEEM TOKENS

Log into wallet. Click on the steem, click on power up

Fill in the amount you want to power up, and click on power up
