What is Plagiarism?
In achievement 2 I compare the various keys in Steemit to some of the cards in a deck of play cards. Today I want to continue with my card game.

Plagiarism can be compared to those eyes “wandering” when you are playing a card game;

• It is stealing, and no it is not a harsh word for me, from the hard work of someone else and in a card game, from the strategy of someone else.
• It is being lazy copying from someone else and not putting in your own effort. Rather think and strategize yourself as it is the only way that you can earn credit.
• It is not being honest by giving credit when credit is due. Give credit when you’ve lost that card game as your opponent was better.
• It is the result of poor work, poor performance and poor results. Put in all your effort, watch and learn from others and the game is yours!
• Best of all, you are not going to get away with it.

How to prevent plagiarism in Steemit

• Check your content on free available sites like;
  ~ https://www.duplichecker.com/
  ~ https://www.grammarly.com/

• Add a link directing the reader to where the content can be found even if you have to add more than one link.

Unfortunately, the human mind has a self-defeating tendency to seek shortcuts. Avoiding actions which will lead to regret can be difficult, especially when outcomes are uncertain and even more so when the act we’re considering will feel good in the moment.

• When you quote someone else’s words it must stand between quotes or you can use the > markup.

Example: I just love these words from Robert Buckley - “Next to hurting my family, cheating on me is the worst thing someone could do.”

• The rephrasing of a paragraph, restatement of an idea or comment or even the rewording of a sentence should have a reference close to it stating the origin.

Example: I have completed my card game by reading and understanding the rules of etiquette of the game Steemit. I will do my utmost to adopt and practice it at all times. ^{Origin Source}
