Achievement 3 by @monjuapollonia: Using content etiquette.

Hello steem world! I will be writing the task for achievements 3 which is about content etiquette. Do you know just like intellectual property rights are rights given to persons over the creations of their minds! Have you ever known that copying someone's ideas, thoughts without quoting them is theft and fraud punishable?

In content etiquette i will emphasized on plagiarism, types and how to avoid plagiarism.

Plagiarism therefore is representation of another's author language, thoughts, ideas, without quoting and acknowledging them for their content. There are four types which are; Direct, Mosaic, Self and Accidental plagiarism.

1. Direct Plagiarism: Copying parts from the writing of another without proper mention of the source. This is unethical and mostly commonly used in schools by students writing their thesis.

2)Mosaic Plagiarism: When a plagiarist mentioned the source of the content he has referred to but doesn't acknowledge the quoted part or put them under the quotation marks(" ") correctly. This is often referred to as unintentional. Though whether intended or unintended, plagiarism is a serious crime as it you uses someone ideas without proper quoting.

3)Self Plagiarism: This is very common with students whereby they copy and paste part of their previously submitted academic paper and re submit to another teacher without asking the consent of the pre teacher. Thereby, doing self plagiarism.

4)Accidental Plagiarism: This is when the plagiarist misquotes the phrase or parts of the text he /she has taken from the source material or even cites a wrong source.

Plagiarism seriously damages the plagiarist reputation and they could face legal consequences for copyright infringement.

Keep track of the sources you consult and properly cite from the right sources .

Plan well and Use enough time to do research when writing any content because proper research and time will help you to reference works used.

Write unique content in your own words and you may also paraphrase or quote from the sources consulted.

Always check your work for possible plagiarism, using a tool to check whether used information are cited properly.
