Do you understand how voting and curation work in steemit?

Yes!

Votes are exactly the same as "likes" in other social networks, though the votes hete on steemit actually comes with a reward based on the amount of active steem power each users have, for e.g user with 7000 steem power, and user with 1500 steem power gets different reward. The more steem power you have, the more reward you get. This reward comes from the reward pool.

The price pool is just like a bank where all rewards are collected and kept. For example if i voted on a user's post, the reward the user gets goes to the prize pool. And from this prize pool, all steemit user gets their rewards.

Our Votes are calculated by a "power bar" called voting mana, its actually a bar that tells us the amount of steempower we can reward a post. Its actually decrease as we votes, but it actually increases back by 20% each day.

This voting mana is actually visible for users with more than 500 active steem power.its not visible for new users, as our steem power is very low.

When voting on a post, 50% reward from the post will go to the curator and the other 50% are shared among those that voted on your post.
You can also get a reward from comments too.

We also have the downvotes, it can also be called the minus vote, or negative vote as it comes with a minus sign "-". This vote can actually be done, when a user goes against the steemit rules.

What happens if you post on a vote 5 minutes after posting?

The curator receives rwqards from their 50% based on the specific time the vote is made.

For example, if your vote was made at the particular time you posted, 100% of the curation reward will still be in the reward pool.

Though it changes after one minute, 80% will remain in the prize pool and 20%, goes to the curator. After two minutes, 60% remains and 40% goes to the curator.
That's exactly how it works, like 20% goes to the curator every minutes, till it gets to the 5th minutes, all 100% reward goes to the curator.

Who will you vote for Steem Witness? Why?

A witness is a steemian that puts in his or her best to assist the blockchain by creating a tool, or an idea to keep the block chain going. They are been rewarded with steem power for each tool they create. Voting a witness works with your steem power, because the more steem power you have, the more you're able to keep a user at the top of the witness list.

Who will I vote for?

I will vote for @steemchiller with reasons because, steemworld.org was created by him. A user friendly tool that helps steemians to get more informations about their accounts, and its also helps in times of delegating steem power to another user in an easy and simple way. Sincery speaking, i got to know how to delegate steem power to another user, when i did my Achievement 5.1 . I must say a very big thank you to @steemchiller for creating such a wonderful and easy to use tool.

Which community will you join on Steemit and why?

On steemit a community are group of persons who support themselves to grow on steemit blockchain.
And ever since i became a steemian, i have joined several communities. But i will be writing on my favourtite communities with the reasons why they are best community.

• Steemit CryptoAcademy community; my reason for making the community one of my favourites is because i have heard and i know a lot about this community. Through this community, i've been able to learn more about crypto, outside learning about crypto, they give each and everyone the opportunity to participate in their assignments and gets rewarded. But as a newbie you must have done your achievement 1-4, your reputation must be 50 and you must have up to 150 steem power. Though i don't have upto 150 active stem power, but i'm actually working on that.

• Promosteem community: My reasons for making this community one of my favourites is because steemit has changed so many life and its a very nice plartform that builds ones writing skills, teaches us crypto, and supports us (steemit is a good plartform that has affect so many lives positively). So, i have made up my mind as a steemian to spread this goodnews to the world. Outside promoting steemit, they also support your works. This makes promosteem community one of my favourite communities.

• Newcomers community; As a steemian you must past through this community. My reasons for making this community one of my favourites is because i have learnt a lot about steemit. And they've been supportive.
