in Newcomers' Community2 years ago

Warm greetings to everyone here, I hope and believe everyone here is doing well.

This Training was organized, kind courtesy the West Africa Centre for counter extremism and in collaboration with the US embassy in Tamale at "Neem Avenue Hotel " that seeks to train some selected youth in Tamale on Graffiti, Mc and DJ, Rapping, Singing and entrepreneurship as its well known that, 90% of the youth has

so much interest and passionate in these areas and when they are well train in that, it can help identify talents and help them make a meaningful life out of their passion because it's said that when you live your passion, it's fulfilment.
As we reported to the training grounds, we divided into sections as to where our interest relates so we had about four classes and four tutors and masters in these areas of studies.
I was privileged to be part of the Graffiti class because I had so much passion growing up as an artist because I loved drawings and colour paintings but along the line I deviated from that and got into another field so that was a big privilege to me to learn something new.
We had a tutor called Damian who was an Australian and a very renowned artist in Australia who is known to be one of the best artist in Graffiti.
We started learning gradually on the first day as to how to write simple grafitti letters in Bold, italic and small and it was very interesting ,then he taught us how to paint these alphabets to look so nice....we had breakout sessions that we get to eat and have fun around and get back to class.... People started figuring the strength in them that has to do with graffiti and was hidden and that was really amazing.
On the next day of the training, Our teacher suggested that we should have a broader painting on a very broad wall around so we can have a feel of how the real work looks like.... We were given some walls in and out of the hotel to sketch some write ups and draw some characters and that was the amazing part and we actually enjoyed what we did.... Amazingly, in drawing, sometimes making mistakes brings up a new design that you would even love more that what you were doing.
It took us two days to get these drawings down. We started with making layouts and sketches then the next day we filled in the sketches with paints.
After all the paintings, it was amazing as to how we got accolades and eulogizes from people outside that we did a great work.
We had a joyous closing ceremony where a concert was staged for people to watch us draw on stage and our colleagues entertaining people with music and dancing on stage.
We applaud our Teacher Damian with a picture frame of him for all the trainings he took us through and he was so happy.

Thanks you very much for reading 😘
