Security according to oxford dictionary involves the activities in protecting a country, building or person, network, cryptocurrenc againstKEY:tack, danger etc. It is the procedures followed or measures taken to ensure an organization, building, network are protected against theft.
Security as it relate to steemit involves the steps taken to protect, control, use and manage functional keys which are access to blog, wallet, posts replies, settings, notifications and communities.
WHAT ARE STEEMIT KEYS
Steemit keys are different keys with different functions used to carry out task on steemit. Steemit key are private keys therefore can be by only one person, involving the third makes it hacked or comprised. To keep your steemit keys safe from hacking or comprised you need to save it with email.
FUNCTIONS OF STEEMIT KEY
ACTIVE KEY:
It is used to power up STEEM up and down (SP 100% and down 50%).
It gives you access to wallet.
It is use for updating of profile.
MASTER KEY:
Generation of other keys are done on the master key.
Changing of keys to password are done on the master key.
When a key is lost in your master key your account is lost.
POSTING KEY:
Is used to perform posting, voting and commenting.
Is used for editing, resteeming and deleting.
MEMO KEY:
Is used to send encrypted messages.
Is used to view encrypted messages.
OWNER KEY:
It is used for account recovery.
It is being used to change the owner key.
It is used to change other keys to password.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MASTER KEY AND OWNER KEY
In owner key you don't have acess to unlock the account. In master key you have full acess to unlock your account and have control over it. The account can be retrieve back when it has issuesor compromised.
