Yes, I understand how voting and curation work in the Steemit.
To get more votes in Steemit, the thing that we need to do is to create creative and good content which makes people like our post. By doing that, most people will be interested to read and upvote the posts. Every upvote that we get from our post, then we will get the reward. This reward also depends on the amount of our Steem Power (SP). The greater our Steem Power, the greater the reward we get.

Rewards that are obtained from good posts and get lots of upvotes are called Author Rewards, while the Curation Reward is the reward that you get from upvoting other people's posts. The reward comes from the reward pool which means that every author who has good content and some upvotes will gain 50% rewards from the rewards that they distributed.

We can check also the rewards that we get from steemworld.org, for the reward in 7 days that we have received as below:

Every time you do the upvote on a post, your strength in Voting Mana will decrease but it will increase again once it recharges for some times around 20% each day. The more you give the upvotes, the longer the voting mana is recharged, so be wise to do the voting.

You should consider the moment you do the upvote and the best time to give the upvote. Normally, both the Author and Curation Reward will get each 50% from the post. The Curator Reward that you get will be less than 100% if you vote less before 5 minutes after posting one post.

Let’s see the table below which is show the relationship between the age of a post and the percentage of curation rewards that will be obtained. Giving upvotes after 5 minutes of posting will gain the best rewards.

Steem witness is very important to be elected to create blocks, keep the network do the function, and keep the protection of the blockchain from the attack by using some mechanism which is called DPOS (Delegated Proof of Stakes). Since the Steem Witness is very important, I would say that I will choose @steemchiller as he has proven to have more capable of developing support Steem Applications. If we take a look at the witness's vote ranking in steemdb.io, he is the witness who has been upvoted the most by many people who proves that he is more capable in the blockchain and he is active.

Some communities are available in Steemit, as a new beginner, I prefer choosing a community that I can join and interact intensely with the people in that community. The most important thing is the community that I choose is suitable for me and I can post something that I like. For example, World of Xpilar asks the member to provide some qualified photography and creative content. Since I like photography, I will for sure create creative blog content to get more rewards.

I have subscribed to several communities that I think I will have a big contribution to in those communities. But until now I'd only been active in 3 communities namely Newcomers' Community, World of Xpilar, and Account Booster. I will be more active in other communities after I have more time and have fulfilled the requirements in each of these communities.
