Christmas Season greetings to all my fellow steemian... Wow it has been an awesome season so far as we break through certain limits and also prepare ourselves for greater achievements. I'm here to write out my achievement3 post titled: Content Etiquette. Happy reading.

Plagiarism is simply citing or copying someone's work, ideas or perspective about a particular thing and pass it as though you are the originator. It's also a way of using someone's ideas and thoughts without paying an homeage to the originator of the thoughts.

There are different types of plagiarism and I'm going to list out few here which are as follows:

• Direct Plagiarism: It is simply copying another author's writing and use it to form your own note or pieces.
• Accidental Plagiarism: As the name implies, this plagiarism is when someone's writing happens to coincidentally have the same ideas maybe with few different quotations marks.
• Complete Plagiarism: This type of plagiarism is when someone copy entirely another person's writing or pieces words to words.
• Self Plagiarism: This refers to the type of plagiarism where the writer copy his or her own thoughts to form another new piece to avoid starting from the beginning.
• Patchwork Plagiarism: It's simply the type of plagiarism where the writer interchange or twist words he or she copied from another writer or write-up.

Here are the following ways in which one can avoid plagiarism:

• Avoid copying - Don't try to copy what someone's else writes but creatively produce your own brand.
• Develop your own style of writing or forming of note.
• Present your own ideas best on your own understanding about a particular area of concern.

Quote is simply saying what someone else had already said but might be at different occasions and to different set of persons. Any information quoted must still be presented as one that is qouted and never an original information from the writer. A quoting symbol can also be used in this case.

Citation is to get information from a source and letting your reader know where you've gotten the information from either through link etc. It's simply referencing the original source of the information and giving credit to the author. The act of citing images, charts, text and others create room for people to continually use their brain in having original content. For instance, @nsikakedem said:

to make it in steemit you must be ready to learn before earning.

Here are the following ways I think one can cite:

• By internet browser
• Through another author's writing
• Through online research
• By paraphrasing an exciting pieces.

I have read and understood plagiarism and I promise to produce only plagiarism free contents in steemit.
