What is Plagiarism
According to Cambridge Dictionary, “Plagiarism is the process or practice of using another person’s idea or work and pretending it is your own.” Source
This involves showing off a person’s content as yours, without the person’s permission. Culprits caught may be fined large sums and in some cases jailed.
Types Of Plagiarism
Direct Plagiarism: In this type, the plagiarist copies ‘word for word’ of a person’s work without the use of quotation marks or even the origin owner’s permission. It is an intentional act by the plagiarist and it is very unacceptable.
Accidental Plagiarism: As the name implies, it is accidental. The plagiarist do not quote or cite the source of the copied work, or misquotes the source.
Complete Plagiarism: This is the worst type of plagiarism. The plagiarist literally copies and pastes someone’s work and poses it as his own.
Duplicate Plagiarism: It can also be referred to as Self Plagiarism. This is because the person only recycles his/her past work as a “new” one.
Mosaic Plagiarism: In this type, the plagiarist takes out quotes, phrases or sentences from others’ works without using a quotation mark or proper citation.
How To Avoid Plagiarism.
Originality: An individual needs to be original, and create ideas themselves. When one does this, they won’t fall victim to plagiarism.
Use of Citations: The correct use of citations, quoting of sources of information gotten from someone’s work is necessary to avoid plagiarism.

Let's define love and then cite the source...
According to the dictionary, love is "an intense feeling of deep affection." Meanwhile, Urban Dictionary defines love as, "The act of caring and giving to someone else. Having someone's best interest and wellbeing as a priority in your life. To truly love is a very selfless act."

Making Research: Research helps to broaden one’s thinking and enables forming of new ideas. This cuts off the act of plagiarism.
Creativity: The ability to think outside the box and generate new ideas is an effective method too.
Use of Plagiarism Checker: To avoid a person’s work from being tagged as plagiarized
