Hello every one, this is like my first two weeks in steemit and i love it so far, that is why i am writing today to complete my achievement 3 even though my achievement 2 has not been verified so please verify it steem helper here is the link link any today post is all about plagiarism and how to avoid it.

Plagiarism is the act of using another person work idea, image or painting and use it as your own work without thoughts of crediting them which is wrong.

Types of Plagiarism

I). Global Plagiarism: This happens when someone steals an entire work of somebody else and claim it as it's own.

II). Mosaic Plagiarism: this happens when someone copies things from different sources without citing them.

III). Verbatim Plagiarism: this happens when someone copy a passage or text from someone else without citing it.

Iv). Self plagiarism: this happens when you copy from your own work either a passage or the whole thing but it is moderate and not considerate.

V). Paraphrasing Plagiarism: this happens when someone rephrase the idea of another person without citing the source, this is a very serious type of plagiarism which should be avoided.

Effects Of Plagiarism

I). It leads to low grades in your post.
II). It leads to suspension.
III). It leads to actions that will hurt your reputation.
IV). It leads to failure.

How To Avoid Plagiarism

Follow these four steps to ensure your paper is free from plagiarism:
1.Keep track of the sources you consult in your research.
2.Paraphrase or quote from your sources (and add your own ideas).
3.Credit the original author in an in-text citation and reference list.
4.Use a plagiarism checker before you submit.

What Is Citation

Citation is the act of labelling ideas that that are not from you so that anyone will know it's from someone else.

3 Types Of Citation Styles Used

I). The Chicago/Turabian style.
II). The American Psychological Association(APA).
III). The Modern Language Association(MLA)

Example Of Citation
The Book is a tool that help one to write down and keep information.

In the above example it has only one original sentence and that is.

Conclusion
Don't be a thief so please if you know you have taught about you are writing and then you chose to copy from someone else work just cite or source it to give credit to that person.
