THE DEFINITION OF PLAGIARISM

" plagiarism is presenting someone else's work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement. the source

- Verbatim : this is the act of taking someone work, word to word in other to insert in our work without giving the person credit. In other to avoid this act, it is very important that when we desire to add someone words or idea into our content, we should give the name and the source of the person ideas or words.
Copying and pasting from the internet: this is the act of going on the internet so we can find someone work so we will copy and paste in our work without acknowledging the person who has created the work. its not always good to have a habit of copying and pasting because it will block our reasoning.
paraphrasing: is taking someone words or idea and changing some few words, or changing the order of the words so we can take it into our writing as our own idea and words without revealing the source of the idea or words. Even when we change the order of someones words in order to put it in our words without acknowledgement it is still consider as plagiarism. Acknowledging someone hard work is very important.
Inaccurate citation: this is when some one gives a citation, then takes it into his work without citing the source of the work. In some cases, you might even paraphrase the person text just to play on the reader psychology, but as there is no credit giving to the author, it's plagiarism. Let's avoid it
Failure to acknowledge the assistance of others : Sometimes in our life, we engage our self into some work and when the work is accomplish, we fail to appreciation the people who gave us some support and assistance for the success of the work which is very bad and its plagiarism .
It is very important for us to be grateful and appreciate the text, the idea, the video, the image and the audio etc... of someone we put in our work by citing the original source of the work. By doing this, we will give more weight to our work
Plagiarism will create a negative impact on your personality and also on this platform.

THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PLAGIARISM
On your personality
- Plagiarism will damage your respect and self esteem
- it will destroy the trust others had for your work
- it will destroy your self confidence and limit your reasoning
- it will transform you into a selfish person
On the Steemit platform
- it will destroy the quality of your content
- it will give a high risk of you been blocked on this platform
- your post can be spam due to plagiarism
- your followers might be disappointed in your post
Its very important to avoid plagiarism for the safety of your reputation and your stay on this platform.
