Achievement 2: basic security on steem by @janesanyim
Hi everyone! It's a pleasure to write my achievement 2 today. This particular achievement is concerned with basic security on steam.
Question 1
Have you retrieve all your keys on steam?
Yes l have, the keys were given to me after my registration on steemit and they are all safely kept.
Question 2
Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?
Yes, l do and they are as follows;
Master Password:
Master password functions as the formation of every other passwords. It is so important that when lost, it is highly irretrievable.
Posting Key
As the name implies, posting key is used to publish my post in any community. It can also be used to vote, resteem or comments on other people's post. It is important that whenever I'm done with my account, l will have to exit to avoid being hacked.
Memo key
Memo key is used for chatting privately. It is also used to encrypt and decrypt messages received and sent through my account.
Active Key
This key deals directly with my wallet. It is used to power up, transfer steemit and convert my sbd to steem.
Question 3
How do you plan to keep your master password?
A lot of offline copies of it are safely kept for my easy location. Moreso, to ensure that hackers find it inaccessible.
Question 4
Do you know how to transfer your steem to another steem account?
Sure l do, all l need to do is to go to my wallet and click it
After that, l will click the arrow beside steem and click transfer
I will finally type in the username of the person l am transferring it to and also type the amount l want to transfer to the person. Boom! That's it. The transfer of my steem token is completely and successfully done.
Question 5
Do you know how to power up your steem?
Yes, all l need do is to just click my wallet once again
And then l go back to that arrow beside steem, and click it and then click power up
Finally, l type in the amount l want to power up and l receive the amount of steempower l powered up for.
