Achievement 2: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT
Hello everyone, here is my second achievement post on basic security. Security is very important on the steemit platform.
Question One:
Have You Retrieve All Your Keys?
Yes, I have.
Question Two:
Do you understand the Functions And limitations of each key?
Yes, I do.
Master Key
This is the most powerful among all the steemit keys. The master key has the ability to change the whole account completely. As the name implies, it has the power to overrun all other keys associated to my account.
Active key
The active key is a very powerful key with the ability to transfer money between accounts or from one part of the wallet to another. It is advisable only to use this key when making transfers.
Posting key
The posting key is the key for everyday activities like posting, commenting, replying to comments, making corrections through editing, resteeming or casting of votes on other peoples posts.
Memo key
This key is not being used on steemit at this time.
Question three
How Do You Plan To Keep Your Master Password?
To keep it safe, I have sent a copy to my email account. I also have a backup copy of the key in my flash drive.
Question four
Do You know How To Transfer Your Steem Token To Another Steem User Account?
Yes I know how to make a transfer.
Step 1:
Select the wallet from profile
Step 2:
Sign into the wallet using the active key.
Step 3:
Click on Steem, then select transfer
Step 4:
Input the name of the recipient followed by the steem amount
Step 5:
Click next,
Step 6:
Click on ok
To Make a power up
Step 1:
Login to wallet with active key.
Step 2:
Click at this point and select power up,
The convert to steem power window will appear.
Step 3:
Enter the amount of steem to be converted.
Step 4:
Click next, Then Click OK to confirm
Conclusion
All keys must be protected because steemit has no room for lost key recovery.
