Hello my dear steemit family. It's with a heart full of joy that I present my achievement 3 post.
I am very certain that we all are having a good time in your various countries of residence.
I have completed my achievement1 and achievement2
PLAGIARISM
I am very sure this word plagiarism is not new to us but not applying caution When using the works of others and not giving them the credit due them could render our academic and personal reputation useless.
However, its important that I define the world plagiarism before telling you more on the effects of plagiarizing
What is plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using another person's work as you own. It's illegal it's stealing it's piracy it's fraud. Rather put as intellectual fraud.
When ever there's a need to use another person's work it'sexpedient you quote the original author and perhaps the source where you got the information in so doing you prove to your readers that you not the original owner of the idea or creation. Now giving credit to the original owner of the idea doesn't reduce rather it tells them the volume of research you have done also give them room to read wide and making your own idea unique.
The etymology of plagiarism
Theword plagiarism is from a Latin word plagiarius meaning "kidnapper", seducer, plunder oe one who kindaps the child or slave of another" used by Martial in the sense of "Literary thief" (C.1600).
Plagiarism Origin
Therefore, to plagiarize means to send out someone's write-up, photos, words etc, without due credit to the source.
For a better understanding of the meaning of the word plagiarism, I have added other words similar in meaning to plagiarism. These include the following but not limited to: piracy copying theft stealing fraud. These acts are criminal offence and punishable according to the plagiarism law
Types of plagiarism
Taking my point from the BOWDOIN, there are many types of plagiarism but the most common of them are as follows.
direct plagiarism
This refers to the word-for-word copying of someone's work and putting it as yours without giving credit to the original owner.
Self plagiarism
This comes when you copy yourself and not giving the credit to your previous work where you first publication it
Example is using the same information or pictures you used for your introduction/Achievement 1 post in writing yoyr diary game without a proper permission from the steemit team. This is unacceptable.
Mosaic plagiarism
Another academic or intellectual piracy is the mosaic Plagiarism . This occurs when you lift phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or using synonyms for the authors language while keeping the general meaning.
Accidental plagiarism
This type of plagiarism according to Bowdoin occurs when a person neglects tp cite their sources it's very important that we cite our source(s) properly. It does not reduce you rather it shows the volume of research you have done giving your readers a wider view of the concept.. crediting the original author
Types of plagiarism
consequences of plagiarism
To steal other people's ideas, work, etc leads tp many consequences for instance, plagiarizing will destroy your personal, ethical and professional image and reputation thereby reducing your finances..
possible ways to avoid plagiarism
Honestly, it's rewarding to see that you could make use of your own brain the joy is beautiful. ~Scribbr outlined four steps to ensure your work is free from plagiarism.
- Keep record of the sources you used in your research
- Paraphrase or quote from your source NEVER forget to add your own ideas
- Credit the original author in an in-text citations and reference lists

be the best you can be. Be original, cite your source properly. You won't loose anything rather you gain.
