What Is
Plagiarism?

Plagiarism means copying a part or full version of someones content without referencing or citing the source. In this sense, the plagiarist does not acknowledge the owner of the work thereby, making it appear as his original work.

Types Of Plagiarism?

Plagiarism takes different form and style so i will talk about a few of these just so you will know where you stand.

Word-to-Word Plagiarism
This is when you copy someone work word for word without putting them in quote("", or >) and citing the source where you copied the text.

Self Plagiarism
This is when you copy a previous work of your own and repost it again eithout citing that it has been reposted. In a way it lures readers to believe that it is a new article.

Eg: copying a photo or text from my previous post and then posting it again in a new article for another curation without citing that the article have been reposted.

Mosaic Plagiarism

This type of plagiarism is also known as paraphrasing Here, a person may pick some lines from a source and add to his or her content and may even be tempted to change a few words or add some few words in other to make it appear as his original work without given credit to it original owner.

Eg:

Accidental Plagiarism
There should be a conscious effort made to acknowledge the sources of copied work, whether paraphrased or cit and paste because plagiarism is an offensive crime and could even lead to legal issues.

Conclusion

An individual's work is his or her intellectual property so if you want to use it, you must also seek to give him honour for his beautiful works in other to avoid plagiarism. This may be photos, artworks, a tweet, a phrase from a book, and anything you want to use, do well to give credit to eho it is due. Thank you
