Hi everyone in the community, I'm glad to be here once again to write on content etiquette in respect to my Achievement 3.

For every successfull community, they must be rules and regulations to keep it organized, and when it comes to the Steemit community, avoiding plagiarism is one of the rules that must be taken seriously.

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism is the act of stealing and copying from another person's writing either directly or indirectly, and claiming it to be our own without citing the real owner. The person involved may copy part or the whole content which may include text or pictures but then fail to acknowledge the original author by indicating the source.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
Direct plagiarism
Mosaic plagiarism
Self plagiarism
Accidental plagiarism
Direct plagiarism: this involves a situation whereby a person copies everything from another person's writing without making due reference to the original writer.
Mosaic plagiarism: here the writer mentions the source of his extraction but fails to indicate the part he quoted properly.
Self plagiarism: in this case the writer copies and paste part or all of his previous work.
Accidental plagiarism: this involves a situation where the writer either misquotes the original source of his extraction or cite from the wrong source.
So having known the types of plagiarism and that plagiarism is unacceptable on Steemit community, how then can we avoid it?
HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM
We can avoid plagiarism by:
Keeping record of the sources that we consult during research for a particular write-up.
We also need to give due credit to the original source by clearly indicating it in our writing.
We must be careful the way we quote and paraphrase from a material and make sure we do that accurately.
This will result in our making quality and acceptable post in the Steemit community.
I have read and understood the Steemit etiquette on Steemit community and will do my best to embrace them.
