Hello steemians! Compliment of the season! I'm always delighted to have found myself in this platform! I'm here to write my achievement 3 task! God bless you as you go through my write-up!

In writing or publication, plagiarism is the process of reproducing another author's or authors' work or write ups without referencing the original author or authors or source.
Plagiarism is also the act of paraphrasing an original work or article without one's original contribution or in put.
Most writers while writing do not often depends on their original ideas but are fond of copying other writers in their write ups without referencing the original source. Plagiarism comes in difference ways such as direct plagiarism, complete plagiarism, paraphrasing plagiarism, patchwork plagiarism, among others.

• Patchwork plagiarism : This is when an author using one or many sources to write an article by paraphrasing the original idea in to his/her own work without referencing the original source.

• Direct plagiarism: This is when an author or a writer copy another author line to line and words to words from the internet or book and paste on his/her work without referencing the original author.

• Paraphrasing plagiarism: This is when an author or writer changes the words of another author into his/her own words without mixing it with his/her own flesh or new ideas.

• Self-plagiarism: This is when a writer copy from his/her previous scratch work intentionally or unintentional to write another work that has the same topic.

• Endeavour to write one's own original idea

• Give credit to the main author or authors.

• Make reference list of author or authors of whose ideas were drawn from to form the write up and reference them at the end.

• Endeavour to cite one's source

• Endeavour to use plagiarism checker to check before post it online

Citation is an extraction from what from an already written book, article, newspaper or magazine.
