ACHIEVEMENT 3 POST BY @frankness7 | ON CONTENT ETIQUETTE | 15/11/2021
INTRODUCTION
The essence of content cannot be overemphasized as the true value of an object or thing is known by what it carries or it is made of. Etiquettes guides the activities of a particular organization or establishment.
Firstly, content is said to be that which an object contains or hold while, the Cambridge Dictionary defines etiquette as the set of rules or customs that control accepted behaviour in a particular social groups or social situations.source
In every organization, there are sets of customs which are established to regulate the behaviour of individuals working in the organization in order to keep the organization moving forward. Failure to follow these laid down rules attracts specific punishments.

Some of these guidelines are stated as follows according to @thecryptofiend source

- Don’t Post nudity or graphic imagery unless you tag it with NSFW
- Don’t be a fake, plagiarise or pass off others’ work as your own

- Don’t bribe people for votes, re-steems, follows or ask directly for money and so many more.
PLAGIARISM
In simple and direct terms, Plagiarism is, I steal part of another person’s content or work which could be a picture, a phrase, a sentence or even an entire body of work and then label or rename it as mine without giving credible credit/acknowledgement/citation to the original owner.
This offence is highly punishable by law and can cause a setback to the culprit.
Plagiarism could be in diverse forms which includes the following;
Direct Plagiarism refers to me directly copying a person’s text, word for word and then reproducing it by pasting it to my work as my own. This form of plagiarism is the most barbaric of all.
This refers to me copying most or part of my previous work and then reproducing it in my current work instead of creating a new and different one from my previous work.
Here, it means I get to copy fragments or parts from different works and then combine them together in a bid to be smart and creatively creating a content which I know it is not originally mine.
As the name implies, accidental plagiarism has to do with me forgetting to cite the original source from where I got the initial information I used or a situation whereby I unknowingly create the same words or phrases another person has used in his or her work before.
In order to avoid Plagiarism, proper citation of the sources you got information from needs to be done on your work.
CITATION CONCEPT
Citation is the way or manner with which you inform your readers or audience that a certain material you utilized in your work came from another source. It also gives your readers the information that are necessary to find that source again. Such information may include;
- About the author
- Title of work
- Name and location of the company that published your copy of the source
- The date your copy was published
- The page numbers of the material you are borrowing and even more. source
EFFECTS OF PLAGIARISM ON STEEMIT
One’s integrity can be at stake when he or she is flagged to have been found wanting of plagiarism. When such continues, one’s reputation is set on retrogression and such a person is seen as unprofessional which can lead to a massive declination in the person’s benefits and rewards as there would be a lot of downvotes on his or her votes.
CONCLUSION
Having meticulously studied and understood the whole concept of the steemit community content etiquette, I pledge to do my very best to apply them in all I do on the platform.
