Achievement 2 : Basic security on Steem by @francisxayvier

Hello people. I want to talk about the basic security on Steem.
Safety and privacy concerns are of top priorities. They are absolute prerequisites for any valued platform. At the end of the day, only the user has complete control, authorization and access over their information and display what they would want to be displayed.
There are various security keys here on steemit.
Let us take a quick view on what these security keys are and their subsequent uses.

PRIVATE MASTER PASSWORD:

Denotatively, the Private Master Password is a key used for the generation of every other key on steemit. It is a password used to access other passwords. For security reasons and avoidance of invasion of privacy, it is highly advisable and deemed important to keep this key or password to oneself only.
How I plan to keep my Master Password
Due to the high importance of the Master Password, I plan to keep it saved in my mails online and written in personal diary.

POSTING KEY:

Posting Key is the key that gives users access to various contents and actions in steemit platform like logging in, voting, commenting, re-steeming, following, unfollowing, editing, posting and so on. It is limited in the sense that the more one uses it, the more likely it gets compromised. In other words, the Posting Key is a key that provides a check on the user’s activities on steemit thereby creating orderliness on the platform because without it, some users will at ease be over doing things.

ACTIVE KEY:

An Active Key on steemit is used for tasks that are not performed as regular as the ones regulated by the Posting Key. It is the key used for transactions on steemit platform, conversion of steem dollars and editing profiles. It performs almost all functions for an account except changing the Owner’s Key.

OWNER'S KEY:

The Owner’s Key is the key authorized to change all account settings. There is always a possibility of an account to be compromised and Steemit has made the Owner’s Key in order for the user to use it and recover this compromised account. It is used mostly for account recovery.

MEMO KEY:

A memo key is used for encryption and decryption of memos during funds transfer on steemit. It is used for deriving shared secrets to encrypt private communications.

WALLET AND TRANSFERS

Now let's talk about steem wallet and how to transfer funds within and outside steemit platform.
Steem wallet gives one the maximum and ultimate control and security over one’s asset. Below is a graphical illustration of what it looks like.

Transfer

To transfer steem within the steem platform, the username of the sender should be in the space “From”.
The steem address of the receiver should be in the space “To” and then the amount of steem to be transferred should be in the space “amount” just as shown in the picture above.

Transferring steem outside steem platform:
To transfer steem outside the steem platform, the username of the sender should be in the space “From”.
The username of the receiver should be in the space “To” and the steem address of the receiver's binance or any other wallet address should be in the space “Memo”.

HOW TO POWER UP YOUR STEEM

Login to your steem wallet and click on “Steem”. A dialog box with several options will pop up then click on power up.
