What is plagiarism

In my own terms, plagiarism means stealing someone’s content or work. This means presenting someone’s work or idea as yours without proper recognition. When you take someone else’s written ideology and thoughts without adding quotes, it is known as theft and therefore, is considered plagiarism. The main problem in writing is plagiarism because it is marked as cheating. Plagiarism is a punishable offense.

Types of Plagiarism

DIRECT PLAGIARISM
PARAPHASING PLAGIARISM
SELF PLAGIARISM
MOSAIC PLAGIARISM
ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM

DIRECT PLAGIARISM

Direct plagiarism occurs when an author copies the author's work verbatim without giving credit or writing it in a citation. This is the worst form of plagiarism. This is also known as intentional plagiarism, the author deceives the audience by imitating the work of others without proper acknowledgment.

PARAPHASING PLAGIARISM

Paraphrasing means rewriting the author’s idea in your own words and presenting it as your own idea. It is also one of the most common types of plagiarism. Without the addition of citations, the paraphrased content becomes plagiarism.

SELF PLAGIARISM

This is one of the most common types of plagiarism and the easiest for writers and students to do. Here, the writer tries to mix part of the previous work with the new work. It's dishonest to represent your previous job as a new job because you've already earned credit for it before. To be safe from plagiarism yourself.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM

This is also known as incremental plagiarism and mosaic plagiarism. It occurs when writers copy and paste ideas, phrases, and quotes from various sources to produce new content. It consists of slightly changing the structure of paragraphs, words and sentences.

HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

To avoid plagiarism, always try to follow these rules:

Before writing, set your sources; Keep track of your sources from the start of your research. Most of the time people commit plagiarism because they mostly forget where an idea came from and unknowingly present it as their own. But when you keep track of your sources, it's easier to check where phrases, ideas, and facts are.

Make sure you quote and order correctly.

Cite your sources properly.

Be sure to use a plagiarism check before submitting your work.

CONCLUSION

Plagiarism is a highly punishable offense and should be avoided at all costs. It can only be avoided by properly citing our sources. With my understanding of steemit ethics, I will never find fault with this violation.

Citation Method

The rose is considered the most beautiful flower in the world, which is why it’s called the “queen of the garden.” It’s one of the most popular flowers worldwide, and it comes in different sizes and colors.source
