An interesting story from the collection of panchatantra : the Indian folktales

Once upon a time, there lived a donkey that worked very hard during the day for a man and the donkey was always free at night. One night as the donkey was wondering he came across a Jackal and they be came very good friends. As the donkey and the jackal become friends they started searching for food together at night. They came across a cucumbers. They ate to their fill and they went back to their various homes. After they started going to the garden every night, they started looking healthy and happy.

One night in the garden the donkey told the jackal that he felt like singing but the jackal advised the donkey not to do so since they are not allowed to be in the garden and would be punished if they are being caught. The donkey insisted in singing, the jackal laugh at the donkey and told the donkey he has a bad voice which made the donkey angry. The donkey insisted on singing despite the fact that the jackal told him the farmer would punish him if he is caught.

The jackal decided to wait for the donkey outside the garden, the donkey didn't listen and started singing. True to what the jackal said, the farmers rushed out, they beat the stubborn donkey very much and tied a heavy Stone around his neck.
The donkey managed to drag himself outside and the jackal congratulated the donkey on his reward.

The donkey realised his mistake and apologised for not listening to his friend's good advice. Dough the jackal was not caught but the donkey realised the jackal would have been affected if the jackal had not left the garden to wait for him outside just for his silly act. But the most important thing was, they were all safe which i think we should all learn from this story. And to always think of others and also listen to their advices.
