Achievement 2 @ebubennah Basic Security on Steem 21-06-2021

Hello Steemians,
Hope everyone is doing great this new week. Security is a necessary measure required to protect sensitive informations about a particular subject/activity, in this regard I'm presenting the post for the achievement 2 task after the detailed lecture by @cryptokannon.

Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit ?

I retrieved all my keys after signing up. I downloaded the PDF containing the keys and a brief explanation of their uses. I uploaded a copy of the key to Dropbox and Google drive respectively, and I aslo printed a hardcopy which serves as an offline key.

Do you know each of these keys function and restrictions?

There are basically four keys:

A) Posting Key:

This key is only use for basic action on the Steemit platform which include, login into account, posting and editing content, commenting on other curators post, voting on posts( upvote or downvote), following and muting accounts etc. There are tendencies of this key being comprised, so it's advised you keep it safe, but if compromise the damage is only limited to a certain degree on the affected account.

B) Active Key:

This key serves for transaction purposes like fund transfer, steem dollar conversion on the steem blockchain, place order on the steem exchange etc. It's considered a sensitive key and should only be used when necessary.

C) Owner Key:

This is the most important key of all, it's used to reset all other keys including itself(owner key), it's also used for recovery of compromised accounts. Due to its high level of importance it's advised to keep it offline where a degree of safety is guaranteed.

D) Memo Key:

This key is used for encryption and decryption of memos during fund transfers.

How do you plan to keep your master password ?

As stated before a copy securely uploaded to private online storage via Dropbox and Google-drive, and offline copy handwriting by myself and kept in a very safe place.

How to transfer steem token to another user account?

First step: Make sure you login, the Go to your wallet on steemit

Step 2: Navigate to your steem and click the arrow down for a drop-down menu and select transfer

Step 3: Input transfer details which include transfer account name, amount, and the memo.

How to power up STEEM ?

This process converts available steem token to steem power to boost control over curation and increased earnings.
Step 1: Go to my wallet
Step 2: Select the power up option from the menu

Step 3: Next, input amount of steem you would like to power up from the available steem token. Then click power up.

With those steps you can easily either transfer steem token or power up your steem power.
