Hello, steem world, I hope the new week started right for you?, Mine is just fine. The lesson on review of Steemscan taught by @yohan2on and referenced by @cryptokannon, explained in detail how new users can exchange their steem to fiat equivalent. In this post, I will be responding to the assignment given.

Introduction

Steemscan is an exchange platform built on the steem blockchain for the exchange of steems assets to other crypto assets like TRX, USDT, BTC. It was developed by @futureshock and @roadofrich to enable steem users to exchange assets without needing other exchange visits.

This tool is very useful as it protects the value of steem by not having to depend on listing and ranking on other exchanges.

Steemscan is easy to use and requires no further verification to use the platform.

Current Steem price and volume

The current price of steem against the US Dollar at the time of writing this post is $0.37, this means that 1 Steem coin is equivalent to $0.37 (37 cents). This could be blamed on the bearishness of the crypto market in general.

The volume of steem coin traded today is worth $10,375.43 which is equivalent to 28041.7027027027027 steem coins.

Latest Transaction

This section of Steemscan shows a list of transactions performed by users. It is automatically updated on any added transactions on the exchange. It is similar to the blockchain explorer on sites of other exchanges.

Steemscan latest transaction shows the following information about a transaction:

• block ID of a transaction
• ID (hash of the transaction)
• Timestamp of the transaction
• Sender/Receiver
• Type of order
• Amount transacted.

All the information listed in this section is required to keep track of transactions by users.

Latest Block

This section of the Steemscan exchange shows a summary of blocks, their hash ID, and the number of transactions performed in the block. It helps in the fast-tracking of transactions the hash ID since there is no much number of transactions performed on the blockchain (when compared to exchanges like Binance, coinbase.)

Witnesses

Witnesses are selected individuals that willingly contribute to the steem blockchain. Users are to vote on who can become a witness on the platform, a user is entitled to about 30 votes.

Throughout the course's achievement posts, I have come across three witnesses so far, they are @steemchiller who contributed to the steem blockchain by creating steemworld.org, @futureshock, and @roadofrich by creating steemscan.

These are wonderful additions to the blockchain that not help users benefit from the platform, also enhance its functionality.

The witness section shows the list of witnesses that create blocks and handle exchange transactions, their fees, status, number of approved transactions, etc.

Dapps

Decentralized applications are integrated into blockchains to enable users to swap crypto tokens between themselves. The Dapp feature on Steemscan provides a list of Dapps that steem users can use for p2p type of transaction.

Quick Convert

This is a section of the steemscan exchange that shows the value of the steem amount to be converted in USDT, BTC TRX, wallet address, and charges.

This helps uses understand the valuation and actual amount of steem against the three listed assets.

Search

The search feature on Steemscan exchange helps users search for transactions, by providing the necessary parameters required the transaction can be found with ease.

The required parameters include type of transaction which can be either Block or Amount.

Transaction ID, amounts, dates etc.
