ACHIEVEMENT 2: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM BY @diallo199

Good day, great ambassador of Steemit and other compatriots who have been of great help in steemit more especially in inculating knowledge. I am so so happy to have this great opportunity in this platform.

In this context, I will be discussing the basic security on steemit.

Firstly, the word BASIC refers to the mainstream, starting point or primary aspect of a body. On the other hand, when security comes to our mind, then we start thinking of state of ownership, the quality or state of being secure such as freedom from danger.

Generally, basic security focus on the principles that are important and necessary and should be implemented in order to avoid being unsecured.
We have many basic keys in steemit in which I have retrieved such as :

• Master key.

• Posting key.

• Active key.

• Owners key.

• Memo key.

MASTER KEY

The master key is an important key in steemit. It is used to derive all other keys. The master key is to be kept safe and not to be shared with a third party to avoid loss of tokens.

Posting Key

The posting key is one of the keys used most frequently. It permits an account to post, edit, comment and follow other accounts. It can be compromised when used constantly, so has to be limited in order to avoid the damage of a compromised account key.

Active Key

As it name implies, it used to carry out more sensitized issues such as transferring funds, converting steem dollars and placing market order.

Owners Key

It's of great importance on steemit. It is used when changing password and recovering a compromised account including itself (owner key).

Memo Key

Get in use when encrypting and decrypting memos.

How I Intend to keep my master key

My master key would be kept safe by saving it offline and it's been gotten when signing up. It shouldn't be disclosed to any third party to avoid unauthorized access and transactions.

How can one transfer STEEM to another user account?

Steps involved to transfer STEEM to another user account include :

• Click on the profile bar, a bar pop's up.
• Then click on wallet option, another option pop-up.
• Click on STEEM option, option where there is transfer comes up.
• Then click on transfer.

How can one power up his or her steem

Powering up of steem uses the same procedures of that of transferring steem. But on this one, once you get to steem
click on it and an option pup's up, then you click on power up.
