Achievement 3 by @cherub27 Task: Content Etiquette
Code of Ethics and Content
The objectives of Achievement 3 are:
Newcomers have knowledge of the concept of "Proof of Brain".
Newcomers have a basic knowledge of creating and sharing quality / original content.
Newcomers can apply the existing Steem Community code of conduct.
What can users post to Steemit?
Steem is an open platform meant to host and welcome any content that complies with our terms of service. Users can post whatever they want, be it phrases, quotes, blogs, anecdotes, photos, videos, memes, songs, and more. Get creative!
The concept of "Proof of Brain"
Steem provides a scalable blockchain protocol for publicly accessible and immutable content, along with a fast and no-cost digital token (called STEEM) that allows people to earn income using their brain (which can be called “Proof-of- Brain ”)
Since the Steem Blockchain rewards your posts by producing original content that comes from your thoughts, it is recommended that you provide quotes or sources to your content that are quoted from other people's work.
Why do we, as Steemit users, need to write down our source?
To generate and share quality posts with original content.
Traced and copied / pasted materials, including images, are not original content.
Plagiarism is the appropriation of other people's work, be it text or images, without any effort to appreciate them. The purpose of the plagiarist is to make it appear as if it were his original work.
How to Cite Resources
It is not enough to just note that "the source of the text is Wikipedia". Link to the specific Wikipedia link from which the content we quoted originated. If multiple sources are used, it is advisable to add the source after each citation separately.
Every sentence that is copied / pasted must be in quotation marks "" or formatted using> markup.
Each cited paragraph, sentence, or idea should have the closest possible reference to the origin of the quote.
Examples of Citations
Stem cell therapy is one of the best treatment methods. "Stem cells may have the potential to be grown to become new tissue for use in transplant and regenerative medicine."source
Also "Stem cells are the body's raw materials — cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated." source
The example post above has one original sentence:
Stem cell therapy is one of the best treatment methods
The next sentence is copy / paste from the source without changes and thus quoted:
"Stem cells may have the potential to be grown to become new tissue for use in transplant and regenerative medicine"
The last sentence is information quoted from different sources:
" Stem cells are the body's raw materials — cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated"
If you look at a linked source, you can see where the information is coming from and how it is presented. A post that cites the source in this way adds a lot of value to your blog and readers. It also allows readers of your posts to learn more by clicking on the source and making your blog look professional. In addition, this can also prevent you from being accused of plagiarism.
If you are posting and want to include an image that is not yours, you can use photos from the following websites which are free to use. Please add a link to the source of the image in your post.

You can enter the source link by typing in the blue display below to link the citation web page link to your article.

The Steem code of conduct
As part of your duty in this achievement, I invite you to read the article The Complete Steemit Code of Conduct to get to know the existing Steem Community code of conduct.

Hey @cherub27 great to see your achievement 3 post. Please follow @besticofinder's guidelines and make the necessary changes.
Hey, I think the reason why you still didn't get upvoted was because you did not use any citation or markup in your post.
For example;
Blockquote
This is done by doing this on a fresh line: >Life is like riding a bicycle to keep your balance you have to keep moving forward.
~Albert Einstein
To cite an image source;
[source](put the link of the site here)
Then you can have some thing like source
Please do that so that either me or @besticofinder can upvote your post.
Ok thanks
Great job with the corrections @cherub
You have been upvoted by @njaywan and I’m voting with the Steemit Community Curator @steemcurator03 account to support the newcomers coming into steemit. You may now proceed to the next achievement task.
