Proof-of-brain concept

This concept encourages creativity on every post made by steemians. Every post on steemit is required to be creative and originally from intense thinking.

The proof-of-brain concept as the name implies is therefore the reward I get on a post, when it is creative, educative or informative and original, which is known as STEEM.

Citation

"A “citation” is the way you tell your readers that certain material in your work came from another source. It also gives your readers the information necessary to find the location details of that source." ^Source

How to cite

A well cited text or phrase must be in quote. Copy and paste text/phrase or sentence, then add the link to the page from where the text is gotten, immediately after the text, using the mark down method.

I have successfully cited some other authors work in this post.

"Plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement." ^Source

There are consequences for plagiarising other people's work.

Types of Plagiarism

•Direct Plagiarism:

This happens when a person copies and paste another person's work, word for word, without citation.

"This is when the plagiarist copies and paste the text from someone else’s work, verbatim and neglects to cite the source or remove quotation marks." ^Source

•Mosaic Plagiarism:

"In this case, the plagiarist may have mentioned the source of the content he has referred to. But, if he/she does not acknowledge the quoted part or put them under the quotation marks correctly, then the writer commits the crime of plagiarism." ^Source

•Self-Plagiarism:

"Self-plagiarism is one of the common types of plagiarism, where high school students copy and paste part of their previously submitted academic paper. If the student submits the same paper for two different class projects without asking the concerned teacher, then that is considered as self-plagiarism."^Source

•Accidental Plagiarism:

"This happens when the plagiarist misquotes the phrases or parts of the text he/she has taken from the source material or does not cite the source or cites a wrong source."^Source

"Etiquette is the customary code of polite behaviour in society or among members of a particular profession or group."^Source

In other words, Content Etiquette are the codes, standards, cultures or ethics that guides me in doing the right things on steemit.

It is expected that newbies reads and understands the content etiquette, as it has been of great help to all steemians including me, even in the course of writing this post.

In summary, I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace them. Steemians should avoid plagiarism, think and be creative, in order to earn Proof-of-brain.
