greetings good people of steemians, I'm here to write what I understand by plagiarism and also complete my achievement 3 task.

              PLAGIARISM

what is plagiarism?
plagiarism is the act of studying, copying, pasting, passing someone's labour and claimed it or taking them as there own, even eating the person's glory without crediting them.

             TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

we've four (4) types of plagiarism, they're as follows

  1. direct plagiarism
  2. mosaic plagiarism
  3. self plagiarism
  4. accidental plagiarism
I want to explain them one after the other.............
  • DIRECT PLAGIARISM:- is when a writer write almost every word (sentence) from another author's idea and tries to claim them as his or her own without using quotation marks.

MOSAIC PLAGIARISM:- mosaic plagiarism can also be called patchwork. it happens when an author write the same word, sentence, phrase that's written in the language structure found in the original without detecting the synonyms.

*SELF PLAGIARISM:- self plagiarism can be called redundant, duplicate or multiple.
Is not referred to as copyright or jotting other author's idea but is a situation whereby a writer publish his or her idea more than once.

ACCIDENTAL PLAGIARISM:- It occurs when someone didn't cite his or her research before writing it down .
it can be called unintentional plagiarism

           CAUSES OF PLAGIARISM
  • writers who are lazy to cite on there research can easily fall a victim of plagiarism.
*mismanagement of time can also lead to plagiarism.

  • too much of thinking or stress can cause plagiarism.

         HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM

  • by using plagiarism checker to check weather you copied someone's work or idea.

  • research thoroughly and also add your own idea.

  • also read and understand the question you are to answer before answering them.

Example of citation

plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward

        CONCLUSION

I have read and understand the Steemit etiquette (plagiarism) in this great platform (Steemit). I will make sure I abide by the rules and regulations not to copy someone's work to avoid plagiarised and also cling to them.

Special regards to @ngoenyi
