Voting and Curation
Curation is another name for voting on Steemit . Every steemit user has the ability to vote, but the value of their vote is determined by their Steem power. On Steemit, voting is one of the most important social functions. Posts are voted on this platform based on the quality of the content of the post. Steemit users assign value to other users' posts through voting, and post authors receive reward payouts through votig. On steemit, there are two types of voting. They are Upvote and Downvote. Posting good articles will help you gain upvotes from other users, however posting negative posts will result in a downvote.

A percentage value between 0 and 100 percent represents voting power. To check for your account's vote power, Fill in the URL steemd.com/ with your username. Your account voting power will display on the next page.

What happened if you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

After payout, the curator receives 50% of the reward and the user of the post or comment receives the other 50%. If a post is upvoted immediately after posting, 100 percent of the curation reward will remain in the rewards pool. The percentage of votes received before the 5 minute mark after posting is shown below.

Voting after 1minute : Curators reward 20%, reward pool receives 80%

Voting after 2minutes : Curators reward 40%, reward pool receives 60%

Voting after 3minutes : Curators reward 60%, reward pool receives 40%

Voting after 4minutes : Curators reward 80%, reward pool receives 20%

Voting after 5minutes : Curators reward 100%, reward pool receives 0%
