Achievement 2: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEMIT

1. I have been able to retrieve all my keys on steemit. These keys I know is to be kept very safe to prevent third parties from getting access to my account. My keys or password is for my use only and not to be shared by anybody.

KNOWING EACH KEY AND THEIR DISTINCT FUNCTIONS
2.Knowing each key functions and it's restrictions is very important. I have been able to learn and understand them all.We have the Posting key, Active key, Owner key, Memo key and Master password. These keys have their unique function. The following are functions of each key and its restrictions:

Posting Key: The posting key as the name suggest is used for making logins to make all blog postings, editing, voting, resteeming, following and muting other accounts.

Active Key: This key is mainly used for transactions and trading.With this key one can power up or down, send funds to others, converting steem dollars, updating profile details as well as voting. This key is to be kept securely to prevent others from getting access to my funds.

Owner Key: This key is used as and when needed. With it's potency and capability, when someone gets access to it, alteration or change in any key of your account would be possible. This key can be used to access all your account keys including recovering a compromised account.

Memo Key: This is used in funds transactions to encrypt and decrypt memos. A # is to be used when encrypting a memo.

Master Password: As the name suggest "Master". It's the core password among the keys.It has the ability of retrieving all other keys of you account including the owner key. On top of it all, this key is used to recover accounts.

3.Securing my master key is keen to me, the master key is a powerful tool which can cause more harm to my account when a third party get hold of it. The master key can help you have access to all other keys as well as my steem wallet. With that,my security matters. I have stored my master password in my Google docs account, my email account, on my PC with a secret lock and finally written the keys in my diary and kept at a lock safe.

4.HOW TO TRANSFER STEEM TOKEN TO ANOTHER STEEM USER ACCOUNT.
I have been able to learn how to transfer steem token to another steem user account. Find steps below.

Log into your wallet using your username and active key.

Locate a drop down button beside your steem token and click.

From the pop up menu click on transfer

Enter the username of the person you want to send funds to and enter amount.

Click on next.

Click on ok to approve transaction.

5.HOW TO POWER UP STEEM.
I have been able to learn how to power up my steem. Find steps below:

Log into your wallet using your username and active key.

Locate a drop down button beside your steem token and click.

From the pop up menu click on Power Up

You would see your liquid steem balance you can tap on it or enter amount you want to power up.

Click on power up button

Click on ok to approve and complete power up.
