Achievement 2 task by @addy01: Basic Security on STEEM

Hello friends of the STEEM, it’s always great to be on this platform. This post is about my achievement 2, which is a very important topic to do due diligence to if I want to have a full grasp of my security on this platform.

          THE DIFFERENT KEYS AND FUNCTION

1. THE POSTING KEY: The private posting key give the user the opportunity to login into the steemit. com account for regular activities such as posting content, commenting and resteeming content and voting on other people’s post. You will have the chance to follow and unfollow other members using the posting key. This is the safest key in the pyramid of keys and causes less damage if lost.

2. THE ACTIVE KEY: This is used to transfer STEEM, STEEM dollar(SBD), powering up STEEM power, powering down STEEM power and for taking different tokens. It’s use is for monetary functions on steemit.com and has potential to waste ur rewards if lost

3. THE OWNER KEY: This is a very important key as it relates to account recovery. All the other keys can be reset using the owner key hence the need to keep it safe.

4. MEMO KEY: The memo key is used to decrypt private transfer memos. It’s also a very important key

5. THE MASTER KEY: As the name depicts, the master key is the most important and sits on top when the pyramid of keys is drawn. It is the base password used to acquire all other keys. Much importance must be attached to the safety of this key to prevent it being accessible to others.

    HOW TO INCREASE MY STEEM POWER 
   

6. Sign into the wallet account using the active key.

1. Click on the drop down arrow and proceed by clicking on power up

1. Enter the amount you want to transfer to power up STEEM power. Click on confirm in the convert to STEEM pop up window to conclude the process.

1. Sign in into the wallet using the active key

1. Click on the drop down arrow of the green highlighted steem option.
2. Click on transfer and enter the name and amount to be sent

Ans. I was provided with 5 keys when I signed up and I know about their functions and restrictions

Q2. Have u retrieved all your keys on Steemit?
Ans. Yes I have retrieved all my keys and kept them safe

Q3 How I plan to keep my master password?
Ans. I have uploaded it onto my inbox and have also written it on a paper and kept in my locker

Q4. Do you know how to transfer your STEEM token to another STEEM users account?
Ans. Yes I know it very well. It’s done with the help of private active keys

Q5. Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Ans. Yes I know how to power up my STEEM power
