Title: Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work. In educational contexts, there are differing definitions of plagiarism depending on the institution. Plagiarism is considered a violation of academic integrity and a breach of journalistic ethics.

Plagiarism has become a very constant practice today. In years of work in a school, this practice is seen daily, in the workshops and even the final tests or exams, it turns out that it is about copying explicitly or similarly expressing exactly the same idea or context, this in my opinion.

No matter in the area we develop or where we live, plagiarism always translates into a negative practice.

The human being practices and reasons tooth and nail even when it comes to the same task he has to fulfill, for example, let's compare a daily task in which we all seek the same goal. Brushing your teeth, although we all have the same goal, we do it in different ways, for example, there are people who before starting rinse their mouth, others wet the brush, and so on in different ways.
This means that despite seeking the same end, the way to react is different since there are people who try to justify when they comment on plagiarism even explicitly citing the idea.

Plagiarism today as I said has become a common practice, information that is disseminated in time on websites where they refer tasks reports and investigations without naming or accrediting an author.

Types of Plagiarism

Complete plagiarism

This overt type of plagiarism occurs when a writer submits someone else’s work in their own name. Paying somebody to write a paper for you, then handing that paper in with your name on it, is an act of complete plagiarism—as is stealing or “borrowing” someone’s work and submitting it as your own.

Direct plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is similar to complete plagiarism in that it, too, is the overt passing-off of another writer’s words as your own. The difference between the two is how much of the paper is plagiarized. With complete plagiarism, it’s the entire paper. With direct plagiarism, specific sections or paragraphs are included without crediting (or even acknowledging) the author.

Paraphrasing plagiarism

Paraphrasing plagiarism is what happens when a writer reuses another’s work and changes a few words or phrases. It’s a common type of plagiarism, and many students don’t even realize it’s a form of plagiarism. But if you’re presenting someone else’s original idea in your writing without crediting them, even if you’re presenting it in your own words, it’s plagiarism.

Accidental plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism is perhaps the most common type of plagiarism because it happens when the writer doesn’t realize they are plagiarizing another’s work. Accidental plagiarism includes the following:

  • Forgetting to cite your sources in your work
  • Not citing your sources correctly
  • Failing to put quotes around cited material

We must always take into account that, if we are going to use a research paper on any topic, even so, paraphrasing the article at the end of the work we must place the author references, and mentioning it.

Plagiarism represents a negative practice in many respects:

  • In education.
  • In the dissemination of false information.
  • Speculations.
  • development of ideas and creativity in people.

We always take responsibility to ensure that the information we use is studied and supported by one or more authors known or accredited by a publisher.

In case of use of audiovisual materials the same applies but in this case offering the link where you can clearly appreciate who created the idea and thus give credibility and confidence to the information we use.
