CONTEST // #GRAFFITI OF MY CITY №35- PHLEGM MECHANISMS

Hello again @slon21veka and all members of the Steem-Bru community!

My entry today in the Graffity on my City contest is the second post dedicated to the "Bloop Festival", the art event that took place in Sant Antoni, Ibiza.

Today we stop in Ample street, with an extraordinary mural.

The mural was made by the well-known Phlegm, an amazing urban artist. Born in North Wales and living in Sheffield, he is also a comic artist. Phlegm rarely uses colour in his drawings; his strange and enigmatic characters decorate large and old walls.

Here are the photos I took of the mural he did in San Antonio (Ibiza).

This work was made by the artist in 2013, as part of the urban art festival "Bloop Festival".

The work depicts mysterious beings inside mechanisms, painted in a style reminiscent of pen drawings. In fact, the artist, who is also a comic book artist, tries to imitate the pen and etching drawings with spray cans.

The artist's name, Phlegm, derives from one of the four humours of the body in ancient Greek medicine (blood, yellow bile, black bile and phlegm).

Phlegm, like other well-known graffiti artists, is surrounded by an aura of mystery. Proof of this is what happened after his first exhibition, "The Bestiary", at the Howard Griffin Gallery in London, where the artist demanded that his works be destroyed and that they not be marketed.

This big fish is another of the artist's works, this time on the Paseo de Ses Fonts, in St Antonio.

Searching the internet for information about the author, I found some authentic works of art...one day I would like to be able to admire some of them.

The entry I'm participating with this week has none of the bright, flashy colours that graffiti is often associated with. But for me it is the work of a true drawing genius, and it is an honour to have some of his work in the city where I live.
