One Day in My Town | 5th Week | Galle, Sri Lanka🌇
Welcome you all to my beautiful city! I'm from Sri Lanka; the pearl of the Indian Ocean. Galle is my hometown and it is the capital city of the southern province. Also, a city located in the coastline. It is a city that attracts tourists.
Galle is so famous because of the Galle Fort. It was built by Portuguese in 1588 at first and during the 17th century by Dutch further. There are a lot of places to see with historical values. Clock tower, light house, church, hotels, court, old dutch hospital ( now it has been modified and restaurants can be found in there), mosque, temple, etc. are some of places in Galle Fort. Also, there are many streets inside the Galle fort and there are many restaurants on both sides of those streets. This place is like a little Paris with these streets and restaurants. Below I have shared some photos also.
We can see a lot of people there doing exercises in the morning and evening. We usually go there in the evening because it is the best time to be there. We can clearly watch the sunset in the evening since the Fort ha built in front of the sea. Night walks in Galle Fort are the best. I really missed those days owing to this corona situation.
As well, there are not only restaurants but also clothe shops, jewellry shops, ice cream shops, local products shops, etc can be found. There is a shop which has our local products call SPA CEYLON. Creams, lotions, perfumes, shampoo, balms,etc. are some of products they sell there and most foreigners buy products from this shop. The interior design also very attractive there.
Since Galle is a coastal area there are a lot of beautiful beaches also. Every evening we can see a lot of people enjoying in the sea. We used to go beach every weekend with my cousins. Here are some pictures.
