Good life fellow steemians!

Self-confidence can make or break a man. We all need to be confident in doing things so that we can thrive on success. We need to realized that the level of confidence a person possessed can be channelled positively or negatively. Positively speaking, confidence drive the person to have a vision in life and knows how to carry it out. On the other hand, confidence may become negative when it becomes too much. People who is oozing with confidence can be a major set back. The question is why? It can become a setback when a person become blinded with too much confidence, once they believed that all things are a just piece of a cup cake.

Being afraid is a natural feeling of commiting mistakes. It is our psychological construct that is onset on one's emotions towards certain activities that makes us uneasy or uncomfortable. Now, it is important to note that it is only natural that we felt afraid to certain stimuli because this will help build an adaptive mechanism of coping.

Based on my personal experienced, I always felt afraid whenever I am put in a situation where I need to perform in front of large crowd. It is only common for us teachers to perform in stage like singing, dancing, public speaking or even defending a thesis however the nerve always get me. I should say that as a teacher I must be confident but no matter how confident I am or how many times I have perform or done such action, there is always this feeling of being afraid.

I do admit that in my first year of teaching the so called performing and being on center stage was not my forte. I am the type of a person who like to worked in the shadow but I've realized that I need to become the person whom my students will look up to. Slowly, I began to rise up in various challenges. One of my greatest challenge was dancing like a gay during our Teachers Day Celebration. It was pretty tough but I did it. There were negative thoughts about doing it but I am happy that I get to experienced it. For me, the most memorable was the graduation rites of my grade-12 students. I was very afraid to deliver my inspirational message for my students in front of parents and fellow teachers but I did my best and it went well. Until now, my advisory class would always recalled that day.

In conclusion, being afraid is a good thing. Overconfidence killed Goliath. It makes us aware and be better prepared for the possible outcome. What's important is that we face the things or situations that makes us afraid and learned out from it. The feeling of being afraid makes us realized that we are only human capable of learning from our mistakes and experiences.

All thanks and appreciation to the steemit team and fellow steemians for the unending support. I invite @mercy11 @mrs.cuyag @imanthadd to participate in the contest.
