STEEM PLANTS CONTEST// week #11//Ixora//@luimer79
Greetings friends of @ Steem-BRU (BY-RU-UA), always looking forward to highlight our environment thanks to the contests organized by our friend @knopka145.
Today I wanted to bring you my ixora plant, which brightens my home and fills it with lots of positive energy.
The Ixora is native to Asia, where more than 400 species can be found. They are characterized by being small trees that integrate the plant community in tropical forests. The plant is used for ornamental purposes, besides having medicinal qualities.
The plant is characterized by being a popular among its flowering due to its showy colorful clusters. It belongs to the rubiaceae family; its leaves are medium to dark green always shiny; its flower appears at the end of the branches, with the novelty that each cluster can contain up to sixty individual flowers.
It should be noted that the ixora should be planted in all types of soil; for example if it is planted in an alkaline soil its flowers turn yellow; that is why the use of acid fertilizers helps to counteract the yellow soil.
Being a tropical plant, the ixora grows perfectly with sunlight originating a compact growth for a greater formation of flowers. It should be watered without letting the water overflow to the plant.
If a compact appearance is desired, it is recommended to prune the plant after pruning to revitalize the plant.
It should be noted that these are my niece Camila's favorite flowers, she likes to look at them, touch them and then give us one accompanied by a (I LOVE YOU SO MUCH).
And so I end my publication, hoping it has been to your liking. I invite @dayandre, @venturabogarin, @orios to participate in this contest.
I post here the participation link.
All photos are my own, taken with my BLUR1HD cell phone.
