Graffiti Of My City No. 39 - Going To The Market

Hello everyone. It is No. 39 already for this contest Graffiti Of My City hosted by @slon21veka. The contest post can be found here for those who would like to join. Read up and begin hunting for street art and graffiti!

Still continuing with the long wall of the public elementary school, the Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Elementary School along Ponciano Reyes Street, Davao City, Philippines. There are actually just a few murals left that I have not shown yet. By next week, this series of street art will end. Meantime, the photo below is the students' rendition of the famous Jeepney. It is the most popular form of transportation, not only in my city, but in the whole country. It is used both to carry passengers and goods.

The Jeepney, or Jeep for short, is hauling baskets of fruits to the market where it will be sold. A typical market is shown in the next picture below. Here in our country this type of market is called "palengke" or "talipapa."

Another form of public transport that is popular here in our country is the tricycle. It is basically a motorcycle with a side car that has a roof to protect the passengers from the sun and rain.

The tricycle is commonly found in side streets and subdivisions. These vehicles cannot travel in national highways and roads because they are considered a road hazard and an inconvenience in highways with fast vehicles. In the photo above, the tricycle is taking its passenger to the palengke or wet market.

And that's all for this edition. Follow me next week as I show the last of the paintings of this wall. Thank you for visiting. Good luck to all the participants!
