Graffiti Of My City No. 31 - Faceless People: Construction Workers

Welcome graffiti lovers to No. 31 of the Graffiti Of My City Contest hosted by @slon21veka. The contest post can be found here. Read up about it and join us in this fun and challenging Contest.

A few days ago I went to my dentist to have a check-up. Her clinic is located just across one of the city's bigger public school, the Kapitan Tomas Monte Verde, Sr. Central Elementary School. It is located in C. Bangoy St., formerly Ponciano Street, Davao City, Philippines. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the whole front of the school's wall is covered with paintings or murals done by the students of the school themselves. The long wall shows almost all the different facets of life from agriculture to religion to construction to ordinary living. And as you will see, all these paintings show faceless people, probably to signify that these are ordinary folks going about their normal life. Nothing special.

In this Round I will feature the paintings or street art that deals with Construction as the kids painted it on the wall. First, the picture below shows men mixing cement, sand, gravel and water needed in making the walls of houses being constructed. The hollow blocks or bricks are piled up on the other side of the workers.

As can be seen from the picture below one of the houses being constructed is behind the worker pouring water on the cement mixture.

Towards the left side of the pile of hollow blocks or bricks shown in the first picture above, the school children painted men forming a chain gang moving the hollow blocks from the pile to another house being constructed.

The blocks or bricks were delivered by a big truck to the construction site and were unloaded hy the workers.

This is a long wall and again, like what I did with my ancestral tribes street art, I will be featuring different parts of this wall in the future Rounds of this Contest. Stay tuned for the next ones.

Meanwhile, keep safe everyone and may you all have a blessed Sunday.
