How is Labour Day celebrated in your country?

I'm @wasa2020 from Nigeria. I'm so happy to participate in this contest today which is talking about labour day celebrations. Labor Day celebration is always on the 1st day of May.

During this celebration, it is declared a work day free for all the workers to rest and those who wish to go out for the organized celebration in some specified area go for it.

✅ How is Labour Day celebrated in your country?

As earlier said, the labor day celebration is done every first day of May here in Nigeria. This is to say we recently celebrated ours here in this country. For the celebration, what is obtainable is that schools or other private and government sectors take a day off.

For those who wish to join the celebrations which are centered in the state capital, they can go and join. This celebration is done by a speech given by the superior authority and also sharing of warfare for those available.

They do this to encourage and remind them of their duties as workers in the country, they listen to their plead for changes they will like to see even as they work.

✅ Are workers in your country getting fair wages? How's their life?

Sincerely, the wages here in my country are not a fair one at all. We have seen lots of situations where the country goes on strike because of poor wages. Aside from the fact these wages are poor, they also don't come in time as expected.

This has made life difficult for the workers here in Nigeria as most times they work without payment hence their wages here are not a fair one at all.

✅ Are there any special events organized in your community on the occasion of Labor Day? do you attend them?

Yes, there are usually some special occasions during this period. As I have said earlier, there is an occasion that involves speech and warfare presentations. This is normally done in the state capital of every state and hence I don't usually go for it.

They do this celebration to air out their mind to the government and also tell them their next plans if their requirement is not fulfilled.

✅ Share your inspiring ideas for honoring the contributions of workers in your community.

To honor the contributions of workers most especially teachers in my community I will suggest that a special celebration be done within the community on this faithful day. There should be provision from different parents such as foodstuffs and all necessary items and this thing should be shared among the workers to encourage them.

They should also be a form of money gathering which will be used to give them stipends for their wonderful work in the community. In this way, everyone will be so happy and they too will do their work very well.
