in Steem For Bangladesh4 months ago

Hello my Steemian Friends..

It's great to see you again in this first week of SEC season 17. A casual topic that invites us to share about the seasonal situation in our country. I didn't want to follow it alone and invited @meriseptriyanti @fantvwiki and @miftahulrizky to share their posts as well.

Every country experiences diverse seasons. What sets that country apart are its people's rituals when a particular season arrives. Because I am from Indonesia, I will offer some information about the seasons in Indonesia.

How many seasons in your country? Which one is your favorite and why?

Indonesia is a country that is crossed by the equator. Usually, every area that is crossed by this line is a tropical country.

Because of that, Indonesia only has two main seasons, the summer and the rainy season. These two seasons alternate every semester of the year. Usually, the summer season in Indonesia occurs from April to September, while the rainy season occurs from October to March. But this is also influenced by several factors that cause these seasons to come earlier.

If you ask me which of the two I like better, I'm probably happier when the rainy season comes. The reason is that in that season the weather is cooler. Some activities can indeed be hampered during the rainy season, but when the weather becomes cooler it also makes me calmer. With no intention of comparing, I just think that the rain that falls on the earth is a gift from God.

If there was one season you wanted to skip forever, which one would it be? Explain the reason.

Hahaha, this is a question I don't want to answer.

I consider every season in my country a phenomenon that will affect the balance of nature. If just one of the seasons is lost, I think a bad impact will happen to this country.

Everyone needs a rainy season and a hot season. Farmers, for example, need the rainy season to be able to fulfill the water needs of their rice. But if there is no summer, floods will often occur and that can disrupt the food supply in the country. So I think both seasons should still exist without eliminating one of them.

Describe a traditional or special activity that people in your country do during a particular season.

There are occasions when summer lasts longer than normal. When this happens, some places typically face long term droughts. Rain is extremely rare, causing several agricultural goods to suffer.

Some areas are forced by this circumstance to carry out a customary ceremony in order to request rain. Since this is a customary practice, every region follows the ancestors' lessons in a unique way.

Usually this ritual is carried out in groups led by a traditional leader. They believe that there are certain causes that make the area experience drought, so an offering ceremony is held to the sky or whatever it is. The point is that the ceremony is done to ask for rain to fall.

I think that's one of the uniquenesses of my country. Various customs and cultures make this country rich.

Are there any special foods or drinks that people in your country enjoy most during certain seasons? If so, what is it and why?

When summer comes most people will look for cold and refreshing food and drinks. In my area, the most popular drink during summer is young coconut ice. Besides being refreshing, young coconut ice can replace body ions lost in the summer.

Then when rainy season comes, usually people in my area will be happy to enjoy some kind of warm food and drink. Fried foods are the most popular like bakwan or risoles and coffee remains a favorite with a warm serving. But I guess coffee is still the main favorite in this area even in summer or rainy season.

Thanks to @steem4bangladesh for organize this amazing contest

Interesting to know that Indonesia has two seasons: winter and summer, like in my country, unlike when each season occurs since in your country, summer is from April to September and the rainy season is from October to March.

The winter climate is preferable because the climate changes, it is usually a little colder and not with the intensity of the sun as in the summer, if the summer affects a lot since the drought arrives and the plants are affected when it comes to the harvest, To go against the summer, it is best to drink cold things that refresh us.
