The stranger i won't forget by tomslice

Sometimes there's this beautiful moment where two random souls completely oblivious to each other presence in this mortal world of beings coincidentally converge and collide unexpectedly resulting in a connection of their souls almost instantly but before they start relishing those moments together, they soon drift apart as quickly as they had bumped !

The only thing that's left with them are the sweet little memories, pure, pious and pristine of the short and brief encounter that they shared only to be cherished upon, forever.....

              **Beginning**

Location- Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India.

Date- 31st December around 7pm.

Being a guy on a family trip on the last day of the trip on the last day of the year, as a habbit went for a solo walk contemplating widest range of useless philosophies.

Spotted a small food outlet. Ordered a tempting tandoori momo. Started savouring every bite of it amidst chilly winter winds gently caressing my skin creating the perfect ambience.

“Is it pan-fried momo?” came a sweet voice.

Raised my head and saw those bright dreamy eyes that adorned a glowing face like tulips on fire! Those enticing lips that hid those perfect set of teeth letting them to get exposed only when she passed that alluring smile. Man, I am going a little overboard. Spare me!

So i just stared right into her eyes and rotated my head in disbelief and just resumed relishing my food as food is always the first priority!

“Yeah, indeed i was talking to you!” the same voice reached again !

Dumbfounded and embarrassed with mouth full of food i replied, “It’s tandoori momo.”

(Inside: A random girl initiated a conversation that to a tough guy like me. Did those faults in my stars get a chemotherapy lately. Strange! )

“Oh! It seemed similar to the one i had a long while ago.” she said.

“Well there's only one way to confirm that. Have a bite.” i mustered up something which i could never had imagined. (Sharing food is a strict no-no! Yet for her i melted!)

“No i am good. Thanks for asking” She said.

I persuaded, “Come on. Just have it.” she then took a bite and she loved it. We ordered more of it and to my utter disbelief she insisted on paying the bill which she paid eventually! (Coming that from a complete stranger that too in a strange place was like a real world fairy tale come true! )

We exchanged pleasantries and introduced oursleves. She had come there with her friends on a casual trip and she too preferred to have lone walks just like i did! From then on, we went for a walk having mix of deep yet fun and engaging conversation only to end it with star gazing at the while sipping a hot cup of tea! (Nothing ever could be more perfect!)

Well, we walked. We talked. We laughed. We shopped. (We bought a few souvenirs as a token and i gifted one to her too!)

(But as always, wonderful things are ever destined to have a pre mature ending! )

Then suddenly, i got a call from my parents to return at once and i had to rush back. The only words that i could spit out before leaving were,

“Hey i gotta go. I’ll get back to you !”

“Sure”she said.

We didn't even say a goodbye and i rushed back!

Halfway to the hotel i had a sudden realisation that amidst those perfect beautiful moments, we became so engrossed in each other that neither did we click a picture nor exchanged any contact details!

Well, i just nodded my head and gazed at the pole star which we had located together, pulled out the brightest smile i could ever on my face and uttered, “We will for sure.Good bye.”

Only this time i didn't blame my stars!

“I don't have a clue whether shes’s on quora or not but just wanted to thank her for the ephemeral yet ethereal moments. Those are worth cherishing for a long time!”

Meanwhile getting back to reality-
