Saying Yes to God's Call: A Lesson in Trust and Obedience

Today was a day filled with many emotions and spiritual experiences. I received a call from our District President, Alex Papel, to be the Branch President of the Bato Branch. At first, I was hesitant and had already made up my mind to say no. But he advised me to pray about it, and so I did.

After praying, I received a very spiritual experience and a definite answer from Heavenly Father. I felt a sense of peace and knew that this was His will for me. However, it wasn't until my mom entered the room with an apple for my son that I fully realized the depth of my selfishness. I had been pleading with God to heal my mom, and He had granted my request by giving her more strength each day. Yet, when God requested that I serve and work with Him, I was almost refusing His calling.

I felt overwhelmed with emotions and cried out to Heavenly Father, asking for forgiveness for my earlier thoughts and feelings. I realized that I am willing to sacrifice and serve Him, knowing that He will always be there for me.

It won't be easy, but I know that this is His will and not mine. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve Him. The thought that keeps repeating in my mind is, "I plead with God and asked a very big favor of Him to heal my mom, and He granted my request. So, who am I to refuse His calling?"

As I reflect on today, I am reminded of the power of prayer and the importance of being open to God's will for our lives. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Him and for the blessing of having a mother who is getting stronger each day. This experience has taught me to trust in God's plan and to always be willing to say yes to His call, no matter how challenging it may seem.

I am excited to embark on this new journey and see where God will lead me. I know that with His help, I can overcome any obstacles and make a positive impact on the lives of those around me. I am filled with hope and gratitude, and I look forward to what the future holds.
