Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 8 (Week 1) || "The Power of Social Media"

Hello everyone, I welcome you all to my blog, on this faithful day I will be taking part in the steemit engagement contest organized by this noble community on the theme “The Power of Social Media"

Before I proceed with the questions below I want to appreciate the community for such a beauty contest, also I want to invite my friends to come and participate @mjerry @josepha and @temetopef

While I was young my mum restricted me from having a phone not until I completed secondary school, as at then I was 16 years old. Immediately she bought the phone for me the only thing that was on my mind back then was 2go, it is. One of the social media applications that allow multiple users to chat and interact with each other. After that, I was introduced to face by my friend, and before inknownitbi became addicted to both social media platforms. I can chart and forget that I haven't eaten food.

Apart from the two I also came in content with different social media platforms which make me a lot of friends. My experience was not good at all when I started even though to me I was enjoying it but I never know I was causing problems with my health at some point I fail sick and when my mum took me for the test they found out that I was having an ulcer since then my mum collected the phone from me for about a week before she gave me back, I was not happy but my mum was looking out for my health first.

Before giving me back the phone she gave a strict warning then I minimized how I usually spend much of my time on 2go and Facebook.

I think the right age for people to have access to social media is the age of 18 and above because social has side effects but it depends on how you are being coached on how to use the Internet most of our percent today allow their children to have access to social media without telling them how to use it and most of them go ahead to learn bad things. In my opinion, even if people are allowed to use social media at a younger age let their parent or guardian educate them based on social media in that way they fall a victim to learning things that are not important to them.

It depends on the social media handle. If it is a business handle or page, there is nothing wrong with other professionals assisting in managing the account to run ads and other business-related activities. But I don't think it is ideal for some to allow their handle manage by another person except if they would it because they have a lot of followers.

Even if they sold it, it will only be used to run ads but I discourage selling social media handles.

Consistency and always being specific about your ideologies is the key to being known on your blog chain.

If people follow you on your social media blog, it is because of the impact they get being your follower, no one like following a random person on any blog. In as much as the primary purpose of social media is to meet with friends and family, knowing your personality and image of the world is your social media chain. If you post and comment nonsense, everyone will take you not seriously.

So therefore proper management of social media is by the user to be disciplined and know what to post especially on the status and groups.

I see the world becoming a global village where a community is raising on the internet through social media. Social media is becoming more advanced beyond just entertainment, chatting, and meeting friends.

The advancement of technology through social media had made life easy especially in the digital world, the initiative of social has brought so much transformation in communication, networking, and even interpersonal relationships.

the advantage of social media in my life can not be over emphasis because I know how far social media has to help me to learn a lot from different people, back then, I only chart to calm my nerves and ease the tension but since I came in counter with steemit platform that was when I know the importance of social media, apart from earning I also have the chance to interact with different users world-wide also I learned diddfren skills.

Social media also keep networking and connecting people which helps me to know about different occupancies around the world. Social media is also important when it comes to marketing and promoting produce or service. It is the fastest channel to reach clients.

Haven't said that everything that has an advantage must have a disadvantage, though the psychological disadvantage of social media depends on the user's mentality. If we don't filter what we learned from social media, it corrupts our mentality.

Information security on social media is not 100% assured, as such, someone may intrude on our handles to do evil things with our profiles. The risk of addiction no to us social media is also high.

There are numerous commonly used social media in my country Nigeria and I will list just a few below, most of these social media I have used in one way or the other. We have both centralized and decentralized social media platforms.

In conclusion, social media has its good and bad effects but it all depends on how we make use of it, it can be positive or negative.
